TAPE Executive Committee:

PresidentZenda Johnson, Community Partnerships Coordinator, Pflugerville ISD

Zenda Johnson currently serves as the Community Partnerships Coordinator in Pflugerville ISD. She is responsible for developing partnership programs, managing the district volunteer program and serves as the executive director of the Pflugerville Education Foundation.  Her work experience in business management and development, along with years of experience with program and volunteer management, training and group facilitation, and event planning, gives Zenda a unique perspective on partnerships.  Raised in Rochester, New York, Zenda graduated from Hampton University.

President-Elect Dr. Willis Mackey, Superintendent, Judson ISD

Dr. Mackey serves as Superintendent to Judson ISD.  He previously served as Assistant Superintendent of Beaumont ISD.  In the past decade he also was appointed Superintendent of the Port Arthur, Navasota and Newton Districts.   Dr. Mackey has been highly involved with other statewide organizations such as Texas Association of School Administrators and has been a great advocate for community engagement at all levels.

Vice President of Development Mary Ann Rojas, President/CEO JobSource

Mary Ann Rojas is recognized for her collaborative style and ability to bring individuals and groups together to develop winning solutions for a common purpose.  She has 15 years experience in workforce development of which ten of those years she served as Executive Director for workforce boards in Lubbock and Corpus Christi.  She has also owned and operated Job Source, a company providing career counseling and supported employment services to Texans with disabilities.  While at the helm she transformed and raised her organizations to premier status in their regions and has received numerous awards for her leadership and commitment to improving communities.  She has lived in North Texas, the South Plains and Southern parts of Texas.  She and her husband recently moved to Central Texas, (Temple) where they work and plan to retire.  She is a graduate of Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, has 2 daughters and one granddaughter.

Vice President of Membership - Tracy Janda, Community Relations Program Manager, CenterPoint Energy

Tracy Janda has been a longtime supporter of education and school-business partnerships.   As Community Relations Program Manager for CenterPoint Energy, she focuses on education outreach.   Within that focus, she coordinates K- 12th grade programs that promote awareness of electrical and natural gas safety, career planning, and business and economics.   Ms. Janda graduated from Rice University with a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies and Political Science.  Her career has included positions in human resources management and consulting, product management, sales, marketing and community relations. 

Vice President of Programs - Summer Derby, Hitachi High Technologies America Inc.

Summer Derby is the Executive Assistant to the Sr. VP of Hitachi High Technologies America, Inc. and the Chairman for the Dallas office Community Action Committee. Summer has volunteered and coordinated projects benefiting education for the last fifteen years such as PIE Mentor Program. Currently, Summer leads the HTA CAC in projects to donate school uniforms, teacher supplies and host a Spring Science Extravaganza for SHMS and serves on the Campus Improvement Committee for The Academy of Irving. Summer was instrumental in nominating and selecting a local teacher from The Academy of Irving to travel to Japan in the Hitachi International Student Teacher Exchange Program.

Treasurer- Larry Douglas,  Texas Department of Insurance

Larry Douglas is currently a Project Manager with the Texas Department of Insurance.  Mr. Douglas holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University, Dominguez Hills and is a graduate student pursuing a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from Texas State University – San Marcos. He also holds several professional certifications in the Internal Auditing arena.

Secretary – Mary Ann Martin, Partners in Education Coordinator, Abilene ISD

Mary Ann Martin has been with AISD for 26 years and has served as the Partners in Education Coordinator for past 8 years. Dedicated to the mission educational excellence, she continuously strives to build and strengthen community relations within the district.  An avid volunteer, with a passion for children and the community, Mrs. Martin has been recognized by various organizations.

Immediate Past President – Allison Murray

Allison Murray has passionately served the Texas community as a teacher, counselor, administrator and leader since graduating from Stephen F. Austin State University. In 2003, she arrived in Austin to work for a charter high school, American YouthWorks where she had the opportunity to counsel at risk youth. In addition to counseling she taught students career and job readiness skills, sponsored the Go Center, work with volunteers and helped with fundraising development. Allison is presently the Foundation/Partners in Education Director for Bastrop ISD, responsible for overseeing partnership programs and supporting the Foundation as their administrator. She has been awarded numerous state educational partnership awards, increased program participation and raised over a million dollars for Bastrop.

Parliamentarian – Angelica Adams, Communities in Schools Houston

Angelica Adams serves Communities In Schools Houston (CISH) as the Director of Strategic Partnership. Throughout her 13 year tenure with CISH, she has had the opportunity to serve children as the Director of Project MOVE (Mobile Operations Vehicle for Everybody) mobile wellness program, where she established relationships with the dental, medical, and educational communities so that under-served children receive free dental and medical care.  Since MOVE’s inception, more than 15,000 children have been served.  Presently, Angelica is responsible for overseeing more than 200 partnerships that bridge the gaps for at-risk youth in five school districts: Alief, Aldine, Houston, Fort Bend, and Spring Branch.
