Rural Donors Vs Urban Donors

The difference between urban and rural communities has always been the showcase for discussions. The disparity between the two types of communities can be seen in donation patterns. It is a fact rural residents are less likely to donate to charity, however, a rural donor would donate a higher percentage of income when compared to his/her urban counterpart.

Rural donors have more empathy for religious institutions and they donate more freely for religious sectors than secular ones. Urban donors account for more than 85% of total charitable donations. Some highlights: Couples have a tendency to give more compared to singles and are more likely to donate more for secular causes.
