Texas Education Partnership Awards
Texas Association for Partners in Education (TAPE) recognizes outstanding partnerships across the state of Texas through its annual Education Partnership Awards.
The 2013 TAPE Texas Education Partnership Award winners were honored at an Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, January 29, 2013.
Winners and finalists will also be profiled in the 5th edition of TAPE’s signature publication, Soaring to New Heights in Education: Powerful Partnership Practices Across Texas.

TAPE Community Partnership Awards – Non-profit, faith based, government or workforce agency, community group, athletic organization, PTA/PTO, college or university |

Academic Impact |
Recognize a community partner whose partnership with a campus/district has had a demonstrated positive impact on student academic achievement. |

Innovation |
Awarded to a successful school/district partnership program that functions outside of the box and introduces new ways to engage partners or grow a partnership program. (This may include using social media and/or other emerging technologies to effectively engage partnerships or grow a partnership program.) |

Service Learning |
Awarded to a school/district program that provides students with service learning opportunities that are proven to have a positive impact on student achievement and the community. |
|
|
Mentor |
Awarded to a school/district program that has had significant results in matching adult mentors with students. Successful programs may include special training opportunities, networking for mentors, marketing plans, and/or retention strategies. |
|
|
Volunteer |
Awarded to a school/district program that serves as a shining example for other volunteer programs by being a leader in volunteer recruitment, training, placement, retention and recognition. |

TAPE Individual Partner Awards |

|
Role Model |
Awarded to an adult, over 18 years of age, from a business, community or civic group who volunteers their time in a school/district and serves as a role model for students. |
|
|
Youth Leadership |
Awarded to a youth, less than 18 years of age, who serves as a mentor, tutor, or role model for other students by serving as a leader on their campus. |
|
|
Wisdom |
Awarded to a senior adult, over the age 65 who assists schools, teachers and/or students in a manner that positively impacts student success. |
|
|
Partnership Advocate |
Awarded to a school district employee (superintendent, campus or district employee); a community member (college professor/administrator, volunteer, civic leader and/or government official); a business owner, CEO, business partnership liaison, or Chamber of Commerce Representative who is a champion for effective business or community partnership programs for a campus or within the district. |

Special Event |
Recognizes luncheons, dinners, galas, receptions, and award celebrations that are organized to thank school district partners for their support. |
How To Submit a Nomination
The nominations period for the 2013 Awards is closed; this information is provided for those considering nominations in future years.
- Organizations may submit multiple nominations, but must submit each nomination on a separate form.
- Review the TAPE Award application forms and preferred style guideline below. Prepare your online submission either in a Word document (so that you can cut and paste the data into the online form) or in the form provided below.
- Nominations may be submitted in one of three ways: 1) online, 2) as an attachment in email, or 3) in hard copy by mail. Electronic submissions (online or email) are preferred. You must use the forms supplied, either via online submission or using the Word documents below.
- Online and email nominations must be received by October
2631, 2012; mailed nominations must be postmarked October2631, 2012, or earlier. (Nominations for the Texas Education Partnership Awards have closed and are under review. Winners will be notified by late November.) - Online nominations can be submitted here. Emailed forms can be sent as an attachment to Jennifer Peters, Executive Director, at jpeters@tape.org, or mailed to the attention of TAPE, 406 E. 11th St., Austin, TX, 78701. (If mailed, please contact the TAPE office so that we know to expect them.)
- Nominations are $25 each for TAPE members, and $40 each for non-TAPE members. Payment may be by credit card, check, or PO. Payment must be received or documented as in process by the nomination deadline.
- Inclusion of photos, testimonials and media releases are strongly encouraged. These will not be returned–do not send originals. These materials can be sent by email to jpeters@tape.org or by mail to TAPE, 406 E. 11th St., Austin, TX 78701.
- By submitting these materials you are granting permission to the Texas Association of Partners in Education to use, reproduce, and/or publish all written and/or visual materials, including photographs.
- Applicants must notify the school district superintendent of participation.
- The completed application should describe the activities during the past year and show a real impact on student academic, social and/or emotional achievement.
- Failure to comply with any requirement may lead to disqualification.

Selection Criteria
Scoring criteria were determined by the TAPE Awards Committee. Click here to download scoring criteria for each set of awards.
Award Levels
There are two potential award levels in each category: the crystal award and the gold award. Scoring results determine whether both awards are given in a particular year.
Top awards winners are selected by judges for both the Outstanding Partnership of the Year Award and outstanding individual partner of the year, the Pat Rosenberg Award.
