The Texas State Board of Education is now accepting applications for the Heroes for Children Award for 2010 to be presented at the Board of Education’s September Meeting.  Applications are due by Friday, May 28^th 2010 at 5pm.  They will be selecting a total of 15 Heroes, one for each district.  View the Texas Education Agency Website for more information on how to apply and for a list of past recipients.

The Texas State Board of Education established the Heroes for Children Award in 1994.  The award is given annually to individuals who volunteer their time, efforts and support to public schools and students.  These individuals also serve as advocates for students and public education in Texas.

This is a great way to recognize those who go the extra mile to put in many hours of service and dedication to making education more rewarding for students in Texas.
