Education Partnership Planning Forums
The success of Texas’ students is paramount to ensuring our economic future as a leader in industry and technology. Today, almost all schools, community organizations, and businesses are seeking innovative, effective and sustainable ways to have a positive impact on the education system and students. Education partnerships have been the most common vehicle for community involvement in education. As many have witnessed education partnerships may bring many benefits to stakeholders, such as, direct financial support, identification of operational efficiencies and improvements in academic, social, and Postsecondary outcomes for youth; however, many organizations still struggle to establish sustainable, effective collaborations.
TAPE will convene a series of Education Partnership Planning Forums that will bring together school districts, higher education, community organizations, Chambers of Commerce, workforce professionals, and businesses from around the state — not only to listen to other perspectives on building education partnerships but to learn directly from each other and gain insight from organizations who have “been there, done that”. The forums are based on the concept that, all who come to the table have something to contribute.
Forum participants will:
- Discuss issues driving the implementation of new education partnerships, such as workforce development, high school graduation, service learning and career/college pathways
- Share ideas on sustaining and strengthening education partnerships
- Identify effective marketing strategies to strengthen community understanding and support for education partnerships
- Network
